This weekend, Nico Gramatica made a statement by making his first field goal for the USF Bulls—a massive 58-yarder! He followed that up with another impressive kick from 51 yards out. Although the Bulls fell short against the Miami Hurricanes, Nico’s performance was definitely a highlight. He called into The Mike Calta Show this morning to share his excitement.
For those who don’t know, Nico is the son of legendary Buccaneer kicker Martin Gramatica, and he’s proudly carrying on the family legacy in Tampa sports. He mentioned that both his dad and his uncle Santiago Gramatica have taught him a lot, helping him enhance his skills and overall approach to kicking. Nico emphasizes treating every kick the same mentally and simply trusting that everyone around him will do their job. Just the week before, Nico also recovered a fumble against the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa! It’s been a hell of a start to what looks to be a fun career to follow!
You can hear every USF Bulls game live on 102.5 The Bone.
