Today on the Mike Calta Show, Galvin mentioned in the news that Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik is rumored to be considering selling part of his ownership in the team. According to several reports, the team could be valued at nearly $2 billion, with Doug Ostrover, co-founder and CEO of Blue Owl Capital, as a potential buyer.

Even with the sale, Vinik is expected to retain control of the team’s operations for several years and maintain a significant ownership stake. Vinik bought the Lightning in 2010 for about $170 million and led them to become a championship team, winning Stanley Cups in 2020 and 2021.
