BOSTON — The roof of a U-Haul truck was completely sheared off after the vehicle struck an overpass in Boston on Thursday.
The truck, which crashed into a bridge that runs over Soldiers Field Road near Harvard Stadium, was filled with brown moving boxes, WFXT-TV reported. The vehicle attempted to navigate the area in the city’s Allston neighborhood at about 12 p.m. EDT.
The area was teeming with college students who were returning to school for the beginning of a new semester, according to the television station.

Video at the scene showed the truck had sustained heavy damage. There were no injuries reported.
The truck’s shearing occurred hours after the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation warned about low clearance in the area and reported that oversized vehicles must avoid the area.
“Trucks and oversized vehicles are prohibited from Storrow Drive and Soldiers Field Road in Boston and Memorial Drive in Cambridge due to low clearance of various overpasses on those parkways,” the agency tweeted.
DCR officials also urged the drivers of vehicles taller than 9 feet to find another route.
The bridge was closed for inspection after the crash, WFXT reported.
