Little League girls softball coach in Texas accused of indecent behavior

SAN ANTONIO — A youth softball coach in Texas is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a player, authorities said.

Tracy Rey Garibay, 48, of Adkins, who coaches a girls softball team in the La Vernia Little League, was arrested Thursday and charged with indecency with a child, according to Bexar County online booking records. The charge is a second-degree felony, KSAT reported.

According to Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, deputies were notified of “something suspicious” between Garibay and the teen, the television station reported.

Salazar said deputies found text messages between Garibay and the teen, according to KSAT. The coach was also accused of having “inappropriate contact” with the girl, according to investigators.

Garibay is scheduled to appear in court for a pre-hearing on Sept. 14, according to online records.
