SAN ANTONIO — A Six Flags park in Texas is pushing the limits when it comes to roller coasters.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas has unveiled plans for Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger which is said to be the world’s steepest dive roller coaster, WOAI reported.
Riders will be suspended in what’s called a cliffhanger hold, facing straight down, as they plummet at a 95-degree angle, beyond-vertical drop into a 150-foot dive.
The coaster will be part of the park’s 30th anniversary season.
The coaster will be 2,501 feet long and will have an Immelmann inversion with a half-loop, half twist that ends with a 180-degree turn. It will reach speeds up to 60 mph, WOAI reported.

Dr. Diabolical’s Cliff Hanger will be part of the park’s Craxackle Canyon Screampunk District and is being built by Bolliger & Mabillard, the park said.
