Galvin, the smart ass youngest of four brothers, grew up outside Chicago then moved to Florida at the age of 19. He always had radio in the back of his mind as something he would like to do.
When he started bartending at age 21 the cash was too good to give up. Working his way up the nightclub ladder to Entertainment Director, at age 28 Galvin was offered a GM position, which he promptly turned down to get into radio. Now or never.
Starting at overnights and working his way to mornings, within a year he realized just by showing up on time people thought you were great. After 6 years at the same station Galvin did a short radio stint in Louisville, Ky. So short he never changed his Florida tags. Then he got the call from Cowhead. Galvin was knocking on Mike Calta's studio door before he heard a dial tone. In February 2007 Galvin became part of The Mike Calta Show and now lives back in Florida and hopes never ever to see stupid snow ever again.
Since Mike Calta has it on his bio, here are two things I have learned in my life:
- Nobody is ever sick on Saturday night. - Me
- There's such a fine line between clever and stupid. - Spinal Tap
