There's a 21-year-old guy from Cincinnati, Ohio known only as "Shadow Hare" who dresses up in a spandex unitard and mask and considers himself to be a real-life SUPERHERO. According to Shadow Hare, "We help enforce the law by doing what we can in legal standards, so we carry handcuffs, pepper spray...all the legal weapons. We will do citizen's arrests. We will intervene on crimes if there is one happening in front of us."

Shadow Hare goes around fighting crime and injustice (and handing out food to homeless people) in a unitard. And get this: Shadow Hare isn't the only wannabe superhero out there. In fact, there's a whole group of these dorks who call themselves the "Allegiance of Heroes." The roseter includes:
  • A guy from Florida named Master Legend
  • A guy from Colorado named Wall Creeper
  • A guy from Pennsylvania named Aclyptico
  • A guy from California named Mr. Extreme

So what sort of crimes has Shadow Hare successfully thwarted? Two years ago he dislocated his shoulder while stopping a guy from beating up a woman. And recently, he teamed up with Mr. Extreme to track down a rapist in San Diego.

Check out some photos of Real Life Superheroes.

Last week, 40-year-old Christopher Childers of Georgia was hanging out in the Wal-Mart parking lot when he saw two unidentified 19-year-old women enter the store. So Christopher broke into the girls' car and stole pictures of them, along with their waitress uniforms from HOOTERS. He then climbed into the car's backseat and waited for the girls to return.

When they did, and Christopher tried to attack them, one of the girls slammed his leg in the door while the other called 911. Then a bunch of Wal-Mart employees came out of the store and helped keep Christopher inside the car until the cops showed up.

Christopher was arrested and charged with a felony count of 'entering an automobile'. If he's convicted, he could get up to five years in prison.

When Christopher was asked why he attacked the girls, he said it was because they seemed "easy" and his girlfriend was a prude.

Officials in Spokane, Washington, noticed that a city park had become overrun with squirrels, which were tearing up the park's grounds. So the Spokane Parks and Recreation Department bought a machine called the RODENATOR PRO. This allows them to keep the Arboretum's squirrel population in check - by BLOWING THE SQUIRRELS UP.

Basically, the Rodenator Pro has a wand which pumps propane and oxygen into underground tunnels built by squirrels and other rodents. Then it creates an electric spark, which causes an EXPLOSION that kills anything unfortunate enough to be inside the tunnel at the time.

28-year-old Artyom Sidorkin of Russia started having chest pains, then after he began coughing up blood he went to the hospital. When doctors took an X-ray, they found what appeared to be a tumor inside his lungs. But when they cut Artyom open to biopsy the tissue, they found something completely unexpected. Somehow, a TWO-INCH FIR TREE had sprouted inside his lungs.

According to the doctor, "I blinked three times, and thought I was seeing things." How exactly does a fir tree grow inside someone's lungs? Well, the doctors aren't really sure. But the working theory is that Artyom must have inhaled a small bud, which took hold inside his lungs and started to grow.

On Sunday, police in Omaha, Nebraska, caught 20-year-old Acea Schomaker using a homemade bong that he'd fashioned out of fiberglass, duct tape and a garden hose to smoke pot. But that's not all - it seems Acea's 6-month-old kitten, Shadow, had been acting "hyper", so to calm her down, Acea stuffed her inside the 12-inch by six-inch base of the bong and got high with Shadow STILL INSIDE.

According to one of the officers who responded to the call, "[Shadow] was just dazed. She was on the front seat of the cop car, wrapped in a blanket, and she never moved all the way to the Humane Society."

Acea has been charged with drug possession and misdemeanor animal cruelty. As of yesterday, Shadow was in good condition at the local Humane Society.
